http://www.elleuk.com/collections-2011
In this text, I feel that the audience are definitely girls, I think that the age of the audience are probably from ages 16-24. This is because it is a magazine which is for teenagers and above, it seems to be a very mature magazine, and that is why I think it can go up to the age of 24. This page is describing 'Forever Kate' Kate Moss is an older model, who loves fashion and has created her own clothing line. This text is advertising that Kate will be on the cover of the next magazine which is Autumn Winter 2011. They have used persuasive writing to try and convince the readers of ELLE to buy the collections. Here is an example of this:
'As well as ELLE's expert report on Autumn Winter's top shows and hottest trends, this issue of Collections features exclusive interviews with Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang, Lady Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti and Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli. Plus see what the editors wore at fashion week, read Q&As with designers and get all the gossip from backstage.'
This also makes it clear that this is a womens/teens mag because of the people they have interviewed. It shows the magazine loves fashion, so they will be interviewing the top designers and Victoria Beckham, who is a massive fan of fashion too. Also girl music artists who are very popular. Example Lady Gaga.
I think that most girls will read this magazines, because of the text given it does involve interests to most young teenager girls, and it is very sophisicated for older readers.

Denotation, Connotation, Serif and Sans Serif
Recently in Media, we have been looking at texts which use Serif and Sans Serif fonts. This has helped us realise what sort of texts they are which use these fonts. For example, The Independant newspaper uses a Serif, which indicates this newspaper to be formal, we can tell this just by the font used. If you look at a magazine with a Sans Serif font, this shows that the magazine is modern. Denotation refers to the audience, it is what they are looking at, and who the audience are. Connotation is the extra added meanings that are attached to images, objects and even ideas, they aren't literal but based on experience. For example, culture, age, gender and more. They are often shared within groups. For example, people of a similar age, people from a certain religion or country.

Media
I haven't been on my blog for a long time, but now I am back! The reason for this is because I am hopefully staying on at sixth form. I have chosen to do media, and for this I've had to make a blog, but of course I already have one! I have picked to do media because I love he fun side of it, it is a very enjoyable subject and it never makes you bored. I love music and films and I love creativity!
I have a few favorite films I love! I am a girly girl so I love chick flicks. Especially films like mean girls, or even films like P.s i love you! I do love comedy films to, but I prefer films that actually make me cry!
You can tell just by this film cover what the film is going to be about. the clothes they are wearing explains who they are straight away. And this really draws me in! so I'm sure it does the same to audience of my age.
